Biography
Mr Ben Scott is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade where he has worked primarily on issues related to the Middle East and the South West Pacific. Mr Scott has worked in the Middle East Branch and in Tel Aviv (as Third and Second Secretary). He served as part of the Peace Monitoring Group in Bougainville (1998), worked in the Papua New Guinea section and was seconded to the Lowy Institute for International Policy in Sydney (2005-2006) where he researched Australian policy in Melanesia. Mr Scott joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1997.
He was born in Melbourne and has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
